Why Choose a Treehouse For Rent?
To reconnect with nature…
A treehouse vacation isn’t just about staying in a cozy wooden retreat—it’s about the experience. I’ve been a hostess for 2 years now and there is one universal comment I hear over and over. “I saw the beautiful photos, but now that I’m here, they don’t do this place justice…” It is truly the feeling of being in the branches of the trees! More and more travelers are choosing treehouse vacation rentals because they can reconnect with nature. Depending on where you are from that can mean many things. Being from the Midwest my idea of nature is in the forest. If you are from Florida it can mean a beach. If you are from Alaska, it can bring glaciers to mind. There are so many options to explore!
Most treehouses can offer breathtaking views because they have height as a vantage point. Whether you see rivers and their valleys, lakes, mountains, or oceans, you will see them from above. It’s part of the ambiance and uniqueness.
Often WiFi is not available due to the interference of the branches and leaves with the satellite signals. But don’t worry you will have the perfect excuse to unplug and unwind! Some people have even been known to talk to each other…:)
Ready to elevate your travel experience? Discover the magic of treehouse living and reconnect with nature in a truly special way!
It is where luxury meets adventure…
Remember your childhood, when you and your buddies gathered every scrap of wood and cardboard you could find, borrowed your dad’s hammer and a can of nails,
and headed into the woods to build a treehouse?… I think I had at least 3!
Treehouses for rent currently are not like the treehouses we built as kids! Most of them are unique in their decor and contain modern amenities. Queen-sized pillow-top beds, luxury linens, fireplaces, soaking, tubs, bathrooms, kitchenettes, and outdoor decks are common. Luxury treehouses come with a private hot tub or jacuzzis. Many have opportunities for wellness packages or spa treatments, massage, yoga sessions, or reiki. Food options can include breakfast, lunch, or dinner served on-site. Charcuterie boards, or packages to make smores are popular now.
Add all those luxury features and put them into a house built in the limbs of a tree! It requires engineering, designers, and people with a vision to create dreamlike places that are so unique they inspire us! We can have our childhood fantasy and live like kings and queens, even just, for a day or two!
Look for places that feature artistic themes, treenet playgrounds woven into the trees, outdoor activities, views, customized stays, etc.
They are special places that are perfect for every occasion!
I’ve rented several treehouses and explored them to create the best treehouse I could build! I wanted to take the best parts of each one and bring them all together in one location. What I found is, each treehouse has its own personality and not everyone likes the same things. It depends on the reason for the visit and what kind of experience you are looking for.
The best ones were unique, offering a peaceful retreat. If you are looking for solo adventures you can find self-discovery or healing in the trees. If you are an adventure seeker looking for places to explore, the perspective of being up in a tree above the forest as an observer is unique. Being level with birds, and squirrels as they navigate the treetops is mesmerizing. Plus it gives you the sensation of being invisible, unseen. Find one that matches your aesthetic and level of comfort. From Rustic to Luxury, you can find the perfect match.
Larger treehouse complexes have more than one treehouse and usually have common ground. They can offer hiking trails, swimming, zip-lining, or canopy obstacle courses. Some have river access for fishing, boating, or kayaking. Some offer Jeep or UTV trails.
Family-friendly treehouses cater to families with children, with features such as playgrounds or treenets, swimming, crafting, or bicycle riding.
Exclusive themed treehouse offers privacy for adults and couples to reconnect or celebrate anniversaries or honeymoons.
From breathtaking views to secluded locations, each treehouse has its own charm and character, making it a memorable stay.

How to Find the Perfect Treehouse Rental
Finding the best treehouse for rent depends on your preferences. Here’s how to narrow down your search:
1. Set Your Budget
Budget-friendly options start at $100–$150 per night. The experience is what you make of your unique environment. Sleeping in the branches of a tree is like being in a nest, the stars just seem to shine brighter. Rustic cabins with ground-level composting toilets can be very fun if you are prepared and know what to expect. Glamping yurt treehouses in the right season can be super comfy. Inquire about beds, linens, cooking abilities, bathrooms, and shared areas. Accommodations that encourage being intertwined with the nature that surrounds you, are magical.
Primitive styles provide shelter only. Bring drinking water and pre-prepared food in a cooler. Plan to pack light, you will be carrying it up.
Luxury treehouse stays with high-end amenities range from $300–$600 per night. At these treehouses, you will be spoiled and pampered to the max! You should expect indoor running water, a Kitchenette, a Queen-sized bed, a fireplace, a hot tub, a grill area, outdoor spaces, on-site activities, WiFi, etc. It is a “ treemendous time” to find a luxury treehouse to rent because they have become very popular and the owners go the extra mile to compete for the #1 ranking spot. From awesome lighting features to themed spaces to works of art, there is no limit to imagination and places to visit for a one-of-a-kind memory.
Consider weekday vs weekend traveling or seasonal pricing as rates fluctuate based on demand. Package options can give you extras.
2. Choose the Right Amenities
What is the purpose of your travels? Personal dream? Getaway or escape? Celebrating an anniversary, or birthday, or planning a honeymoon? Adventure? Bucketlist? Do you want a couples retreat or a date night?
What type of comfort level do you want? Business travel? Destination vacation?
Hot Tub / Soaking bathtub / Shower / Flushable toilet / Jacuzzi / Kitchenette / Grill / Picnic area / Hiking / Lake or River or Beach access / Mountain views / Wildlife /Custom linens and Pillowtop mattress / Microwave / Hairdryer / Toiletries / garden / decks / patio / parking / accessibility / coffee maker /cooktop / oven / stocked supplies / laundry /firepit /outdoor seating / level of privacy
3. Read Reviews & Check Ratings
Look at guest experiences by searching for business listings and reading the reviews by guests who have stayed there. The personal knowledge of others is worth gold in letting you know how they perceive the accommodations.
Search the internet for websites and business listings of the places you see on social platforms for detailed photos /videos and information about renting the property. Pictures are worth a thousand words!
Contact the host to clarify house rules and additional services. Several properties that are listed on Air B&B and VBRO are available directly and you are bypassing a third-party host and their fees and regulations.
4. Book in Advance
Treehouses are in high demand, especially during holidays and weekends. As a hostess, I know our weekends are booked 2 months out further than our weekdays. If the treehouse is unique and there is only one of its kind, you will have to plan further, especially if you need a special date. Honeymoon dates are usually planned months to years in advance.
Watch for last-minute deals on high-rated rentals. I’ve had the pleasure of looking for a place to stay traveling on the day of arrival. It’s like finding a needle in a haystack! But a lot of resorts offer discounts to fill in unoccupied rentals. It doesn’t hurt to ask.
